Design Your Dream Custom Retreat

A custom retreat is not a packaged departure with your group's name pinned to it. It starts from an empty page: your people, the weeks you can travel, the practice you teach or the reason you are gathering, and the kind of place that makes all of that land. We work outward from those four things until there is an itinerary that could not belong to anyone else.

Most of the groups we plan for sit somewhere between six and twenty travellers. That size shapes everything downstream, because it is small enough to take over a family-run guesthouse, eat at one long table, and move without a coach and a headcount, and large enough to hold a real teaching container. If your group is smaller or considerably larger, tell us early and we will be honest about which of our regions suit it.

We plan in Africa, Asia, Europe, Central America and the United States. Within those regions we work with places we have walked ourselves or that our on-the-ground partners know intimately, which is why we would rather send you somewhere quieter and correct than somewhere famous and wrong.

The process is deliberately slow at the front and quick at the back. Nearly every problem in a retreat can be solved in the first conversation, and almost none of them can be solved a fortnight before departure.

You do not need a finished plan, and you certainly do not need a destination. An approximate headcount, a season or a pair of months, and one sentence about the feeling you are after is enough to begin. If you already have fixed dates, a budget range per traveller, or a place you cannot stop thinking about, include those and we will work from them.

It also helps to say what you are not looking for. Groups who tell us plainly that they do not want early starts, or long drives, or a full programme every day, get better itineraries than groups who leave us guessing and then correct us later.
